This coastline stretches for 50 kilometres (31 miles) along the Tyrrhenian Sea and is dotted with charming towns, stunning cliffs, vibrant colours, and some of the best food in the world. Don't miss Amalfi, a powerful maritime republic in the Middle Ages and now a stunning and much-photographed town. Positano's history dates back to Roman times, with its beautiful architecture and vibrant atmosphere having drawn visitors for centuries. Also worth a visit is the historic town of Ravello, perched high above the Amalfi coast with a distinctive landmark centre and commanding views.
The islands of Capri and Ischia are both standout destinations too. Marina Grande and Marina Piccola on Capri offer fine dining, vibrant nightlife and unadulterated Italian glamour, along with stunning beaches and rocky landscapes.
